Valeria M. Affer

Professional Experience
Valeria Marina Affer graduated in Law and Political Science, majoring in Legal International Law; she has worked as a lawyer since 1999 and is an advocate in the Supreme Court.  She is involved in industrial and intellectual property and commercial law, in both in-court and out-of-court procedures, with a particular focus on contracts. In the area of trade, Valeria Marina is specialized in franchising, assisting both franchisors and franchisees. 
She has gained significant experience in industrial and commercial law at a prestigious law firm in Milan, establishing her expertise at the Gide Loyrette Nouel office in Paris, one of the leading French cabinets. 
She is permanent consultant of Italian CPA Firms, with registered offices in New York and Miami. 
She is member of the Panel of WIPOMediators and Consultant of the IP and innovation experts group of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan.

Education

Valeria Marina Affer graduated in Law at the State University of Milan with a thesis on Industrial Law and Political Science, with a specialization in International Law. She was a student in the specialization course in Community Law at the Institut des Hautes Ètudes Européens in Strasbourg. 

In addition, she was a student at the Wipo Training Institute in the area of mediation as well as in a specialization course in the field of privacy and management of personal data at the University of La Sapienza – Unitelma 

Conferences and legal articles
She was lecturer of the school of specialization in Environmental Law at the University of Bergamo with a module on trademarks and certifications as well as at the Master’s course in Licensing at the State University in 2021. 

Valeria Marina is speaker at conferences and training courses on industrial law, copyright, cultural heritage and ADR in Italy and abroad. In the same field, she writes articles published in law reviews and Italian Industrial Federation associations. She is co-author of the volume Art and Law.
